Our History

Power Equipment Sales Company, Inc., in its current format, is a result of a merger in 1970 of The Charles L. Ward Company and Power Equipment Sales Company. Power Equipment was founded in 1954 and The Charles L. Ward Company had its beginning in 1920.

Several years ago, Power Equipment Sales Company embarked on a program of continuity bringing in to the organization young, experienced salespeople to learn the business and eventually own and manage the company. It is by this process that Power Equipment Sales Company has evolved into its current place in the electrical community.

Our general marketing area, four Midwestern States, presents a unique and extensive challenge in operating a successful sales agency due to the fact that much of the area is low density agricultural based economy. In order to provide continuous Sales coverage, we require multiple product lines and broad concentration to meet this challenge. To accomplish this, personal calls are regularly made at electric utilities, consulting engineers, contractors, OEM’s, industrials and others. We feel our service and sales expertise offers manufacturers quality representation for their products.

Mendel Lightfoot

Principal
Covering: Western Missouri | Southeastern Kansas

Mendel holds a BS from Missouri State University. Prior to joining Power Equipment Sales, Mendel held various utility sales positions with Harry Cooper Supply Company for 12 years, Cummins Utility Supply Company for 3 years and most recently HD Supply Power Solutions for nearly 13 years Mendel operates as a resident salesman in the Springfield Missouri area. Mendel began with Power Equipment Sales in January 2014.

 

Kelly Hoss

Principal
Covering: Kansas | Western Missouri

Kelly holds a BS from The University of Kansas. Prior to joining Power Equipment Sales, Kelly spent 2 years with Wesco in inside sales and then 11 years with Graybar in outside sales. Kelly serves as an outside sales rep working out of the Kansas City office. Kelly began with Power Equipment Sales in May 2016.

 

Steve Holler

Principal
Covering: Kansas | Western Missouri

Steve studied Business at Park University. Prior to joining the Power Equipment Sales team, Steve worked for Hubbell Power Systems as a Territory Manager for 10 years calling on the investor owned utilities and the public power sector in Kansas and western Missouri. Previous to that position, he spent 22 years with Milbank Mfg. Co in various roles, including engineering, inside sales and Regional Sales Manager for International and the Central U.S. market. He started with Power Equipment Sales Co. in April, 2019.

 

Jeff Moriarty

Outside Sales
Covering: St. Louis | Eastern Missouri | Southern Illinois

Jeff holds a BS from UM-St Louis. Prior to joining the Power Equipment Sales team, Jeff worked for Wesco in outside sales for Utility/Public Power. Previous to that position, he spent 7 years as a manufacturer rep in Utility and Telecom. He started his career at Fletcher-Reinhardt Company, moving from warehouse to inside sales to direct sales with Utility contractors. Jeff has been in the industry for 25+ years. He started with Power Equipment Sales Co. in April, 2015.

 

Greg Lloyd

Outside Sales
Covering: Missouri | Kansas

Greg holds a BS in Business from Kansas State University. Prior to Power Equipment Sales, he has held multiple sales, managerial, and purchasing roles within the electrical industry. Greg began his career as Materials Manager for a local electrical contractor managing the purchasing, inventory, and warehouse functions for the KC Streetlighting Project. Most recently, he spent 4+ years as an electrical manufacturer’s representative calling on contractors and distributors in the KC metro and western Missouri. Greg started with Power Equipment Sales in June of 2021.

 

Brandon Gibson

Outside Sales
Covering: Eastern Missouri | Southern Illinois

Brandon holds a BS from Columbia College. Prior to joining Power Equipment Sales, Brandon spent 13 years with the City of Columbia, MO and then 5 years with Graybar in outside utility sales. Brandon serves as an Account Manager covering Eastern Missouri & Southern Illinois. Brandon began with Power Equipment Sales in April 2022.

 

Chris Royer

Inside Sales Account Representative

Chris holds a BS in Exercise Science and a Masters Degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Kansas. Chris has over 4 years of experience in the utility industry. Prior to joining Power Equipment Sales, Chris spent 2 years with Graybar in outside sales. Chris serves as Utility Sales & Support working out of the Kansas City office. Chris joined Power Equipment Sales in 2017.

 


Veronica Terrazas

Inside Sales Account Representative

Inside sales service to our distributor and contractor customers as well as acts as receptionist. She has been with PESCO since July 2011.
